Master of Arts in Human Services

The Master of Arts in Human Relations is a program that is appropriate for individuals who desire a degree that could lead to possible career advancement. This degree is ideal for those who regularly apply psychological insights in their work activities or settings.

The degree will not prepare students to seek licensure or national certification in professional counseling.

Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to:


  • Develop a Christian worldview by studying God’s revelation in human relations.

  • Enhance communication skills.

  • Provide an understanding of the nature and needs of individuals at all developmental levels.

  • Develop a Christian worldview by studying God’s revelation in human relations.

  • Provide an understanding of issues and trends in a multicultural and diverse society.

  • Provide an understanding of group development, dynamics and other group work activities.


Program Format

The Master of Arts in Human Relations is a 30 credit hour program and is offered in both the residential and distance learning formats.

Distance learning students are required to attend two, week-long on-campus intensives.

*Blended Degree Programs

The blended degree format combines online study with on-campus study at Liberty University. This unique format allows you to complete some of your coursework from a distance, while also giving you the opportunity to study from our Lynchburg, Virginia campus, located in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Through the blended format, you get to experience the best of both worlds – the convenience of flexible, online education mixed with intensive study and face-to-face interaction with professors and fellow students on Liberty's campus.
